It was a fantastic cake and tasted delicious!

Tasty but...

The cake was delicious. It was well made and the flavours and texture were lovely. The issue was the presentation - the Sonic characters were peeling off from the backing and curling away from the edges. It did not help that one of the large decorations was broken - which became apparent as the decorations were not well affixed to the cake. I did follow the instructions of keeping the cake refrigerated until 20 mins before serving. The cake was also carefully transported to the venue - 8 minutes away from home. There was no damage to the cake, just that the decorations were peeling, 1 was broken and a few were falling off. The extra cake topper was very appealing, and very nicely done. Overall, it just meant that the centrepiece to our party looked rather underwhelming, when we expected it to be the star of the show!
